Hey Guys, It’s Katherine! This is one of those little pieces that was written during my last day at Writer’s House. This is in dedication to my amazing friend Jade. We sat around during our free time on Friday and wrote love poems for each other. This girl stole my heart and I love her to pieces. So this is ‘Dear J’
Hey, it’s Katherine! This is one of my edited poems from the Writer’s House Course I went on in October. If you would like me to go through the editing process for this poem then leave me a comment. This particular poem was an exercise in list ‘How-to’ poems inspired by Dean Atta’s How to be a poet. I hope you enjoy x(more…)
Hey guys, its Katherine! I was rummaging through my old files and I found this piece I wrote way back in year 9 when we did our anti-smoking campaigns. I thought it was quite nice to share it with you all. Updates for my new series on my time in writers house coming soon xx
Hey there, long time no see I know. I promise there will be more content soon. Anyway, I have the first little taste of a new series of posts on some writing workshops I did with METAL which is a creative organisation. I have recently taken part in their writer’s house course and it was phenomenal. We were lead by four extraordinary poets and I will be revealing what they taught me over the next few posts.
I have a little teaser of the first bit of poetry I wrote on the course. Only four lines, but the first four lines of an amazing adventure.
Is it wrong of me to think,
that you so alone, would grip so tight?
How is it that though your mask falls,
and you are so cold, that you would still take flight?
Hey Guys and Girls, it’s Katherine. This one has been quite a hard poem to post. Last week I was confirmed as a member of the Church of England. I have been on an alpha course and over the last couple of months, my faith has grown so enormously. I feel so loved and blessed by the family I have grown in the church and in the friendships that will stay with me all the days of my life. This poem is my ode to the love that I bare for my saviour Jesus Christ and how I can see him at work.
Hey guys, it’s Katherine. This is another poem, this one a little bit suggestive. It is about a courtesan and her many lovers, but instead of making it scandalous or demonising the behaviour, I wanted to show it more elegantly. It is based on one of the characters I created a while ago and she has since changed a lot, but I felt this particular poem was supposed to be shared.
Hey guys, it’s Katherine. I found this poem when I was looking through one of my old school books from when we covered gothic literature. It was fun to write and I think it is always nice to find bits of old writing you can relearn to love. Don’t look too deeply into this one… I might write like this from time to time but these generally aren’t thoughts that cross my mind on a regular basis.
